Overview Meet the Scarab: a “9A per drive channel Malenki” built for higher-current drive systems. Early testing successfully ran at 12A per channel, but the Scarab is current-limited to 9A per channel for added reliability and margin. It is larger than a standard or HV Malenki, focuses on drive control with two brushed driver channels, and includes an integrated receiver to simplify wiring and save weight. Why builders use Malenki Originally created for very small, weight-constrained robots, Malenki boards combine receiver ESC functionality on a single compact PCB. Malenkis have been widely used in the UK for 150g “UK Antweight rules” robots and in the US for the 150g Fairyweight class. Over time, the Malenki family expanded from the original Nano to the HV model, and now the higher-current Scarab. Radio protocol note The Malenkis use the AFHDS2A radio protocol, which works with many FlySky and Turnigy transmitters. Please be aware that AFHDS is NOT the same as AFHDS2A. Example: The FS-i6 is an AFHDS2A compatible transmitter and WILL work with the Malenki. The FS-CT6B is an AFHDS compatible transmitter and WILL NOT work with the Malenki.
