The FingerTech N10 Micro Spark gearmotor is a purpose-built micro drivetrain motor developed in collaboration with Canadian combat robotics manufacturer CASFAB. Designed with weight- and space-constrained robots in mind, these motors are optimized for 150g fairyweight builds while remaining useful in other ultra-compact applications where efficiency and simplicity matter. With the Micro Spark lineup, FingerTech expands into the popular N-series micro gearmotor form factor, bringing their design philosophy and combat-focused refinements to a size class already familiar to many builders. The Micro Spark uses a GM12-compatible gearbox footprint, sharing the same 12mm-class dimensions and 3mm D-flat output shaft as many common micro gearmotors. This allows builders to reuse existing mounts, press-on wheels, and hub solutions without redesigning their drivetrain. The gearbox is paired with a custom steel faceplate that increases mounting thread strength while remaining lightweight—an important upgrade for robots that see repeated impacts and rebuilds. Electrically, the N10 Micro Spark is designed to run comfortably on typical 2S (7.4V) systems, with a wide operating voltage range from 3V–9V. Compared to standard low-power N10 motors, the Micro Spark offers significantly higher current capability, making it well-suited for aggressive fairyweight drivetrains and other compact robots that demand more torque than traditional micro motors can provide. Multiple gear ratios are available, allowing builders to balance speed and torque depending on arena size, driving style, and robot weight. Lower ratios favor speed and agility, while higher ratios trade top speed for pushing power and control. As with all micro gearmotors, proper gearing, wheel size, and current management are essential for reliability. The FingerTech N10 Micro Spark pairs naturally with FingerTech Lightweight Twist Hubs and compatible press-on wheels, making it easy to assemble a compact, serviceable drivetrain with minimal added mass. For builders looking to extract maximum performance from a tiny package, the Micro Spark offers a proven foundation.
