The durable mould resistant paint film is designed to resist cracking, peeling and blistering for up to 7 years and bonds to existing solvent-based or glossy paints. PermaWhite® is also ideal for sealing flat paint, new drywall, cement block and concrete. Available in a matt finish or a satin finish. Matt finish recommended for application in high-humidity areas where a durable low sheen finish is desired. Satin finish recommended for high-humidity areas that are subject to challenging wear and tear. *Once dried the paint film is classed as a treated article and contains the surface biocide 4,5-dichloro-2-n-octyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one 0.12% by weight. What areas are prone to mould and mildew? Any area of persistent high humidity, frequent temperature changes and poor air circulation. In the home, high moisture areas like kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and basements can be prone to mould build up. Is mould resistant paint suitable for bathrooms and kitchens? Yes. Zinsser PermaWhite® Interior Satin is ideal for bathrooms, with a scrubbable satin finish that resists humidity and stands up to challenging wear and tear. While Zinsser PermaWhite® Interior Matt can also be used for a great looking low sheen finish. What surfaces can I use Zinsser PermaWhite on? Our mould resistant paint is ideal for interior walls, wall cavities, ceilings, trim, doors and all related paintable surfaces. It can be used on new or previously painted gypsum drywall, cured plaster, cement, poured concrete and stucco; concrete block; ceramic tile; primed or previously painted wood and metal; vinyl panelling; aluminium; rigid, paintable plastics, laminates, and other paintable surfaces. PermaWhite® will adhere to gloss or semi-gloss paints, existing wallcoverings, ceramic tile and similar glossy surfaces without prior sanding. Before applying PermaWhite® to bare plaster it must first be sealed with a primer e.g. Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer Sealer Do I need any special prep before using PermaWhite? Surfaces must be clean, dry, sound and free of dirt, dust, grease, wax, wallcovering adhesive, soap film, loose paint or other surface contamination. Wash surfaces with Zinsser Universal Degreaser & Cleaner and rinse thoroughly. Ensure surfaces are completely dry before painting, a maximum moisture content of 16%. We recommend removing all existing mould and mildew before painting, such as with Zinsser Mould Killer & Remover Can I paint over mould resistant paint? Painting over mould resistant paint will prevent it from working. Zinsser PermaWhite® is designed to be tough and durable for up to 7 years.
