What is B-I-N® Shellac Primer? A shellac primer is a stain-blocking primer that is especially effective at tackling tough stains such as water, smoke and tannin bleed. Shellac based primers provide excellent adhesion, even to challenging surfaces such as glossy plastics, metal and ceramic tiles. B-I-N® is the ultimate primer, sealer and stain killer. It offers unparalleled adhesion on any surface without sanding and has the hiding power to conceal the toughest of stains. B-I-N® effectively blocks odours, dries in minutes and is perfect for use on interior surfaces and spot priming of exterior surfaces. B-I-N® can be used on a variety of surfaces including, interior ceilings, walls, doors and more. It’s perfect for spot priming exterior metal, trims, PVC and wood. Can you Spray Zinsser B-I-N? Yes, B-I-N® can be applied using an airless or conventional sprayer. How do I apply B-I-N? Preparation and surface cleaning Make sure that surfaces are clean, dry and free of dust, dirt, grease, mildew, or any contaminants that could affect the paint adhesion. Remove loose, flaking material and sand rough edges for a smooth finish. Application techniques B-I-N® is easy to apply with a brush, roller or pad and can also be applied using an airless or conventional sprayer. In most cases, only one coat is necessary to prime most surfaces however, when priming very porous substrates a second coat might be required. Stir well before applying. Drying and recoating times B-I-N® is touch dry in 15 minutes and re-coatable in 45 minutes, with a full cure time of 1-3 days. Clean up instructions Clean up spills and drips with denatured alcohol or ammoniated detergent. Wash tools in a solution of 1 part ammonia and 3 parts water immediately after use.
