MORE ABOUT THE VERTICAL SPINNER POLYCARBONATE TOP ARMOR: What it is / Who it’s for The FingerTech Viper Vertical Spinner Top Armor is a polycarbonate replacement panel for FingerTech’s Viper Vertical Spinner Add-On and our Weaponized Vertical Spinner Bundle. This cover is designed specifically for that add-on. This top cover is perfect as a spare or event-ready backup. With a precise fit for the spinner configuration, it balances durability and weight while protecting your Viper’s internals from debris and overhead strikes. This is the latest revision (see Revision Control below) and matches V-Spin Rev 4 (April ’25 and newer). How it works The polycarbonate top armor mounts above the chassis, pairing with the UHMW Vertical Spinner front panel for complete protection. At 1.6mm (0.063in) thick, it provides a rigid, lightweight barrier against weapon impacts. While not as impact-absorbing as UHMW, polycarbonate resists shattering and keeps your robot agile, making it a reliable choice for replacement or travel spares. What’s included / What you’ll need The package includes one pre-cut polycarbonate top armor panel. Installation requires basic hand tools. Depending on your build, you may need six 6-32 button head screws (not included). A 5/64in hex wrench is typically required for standard hardware. Align the panel carefully with the spinner cutout to ensure full clearance and a secure fit. Why this part? Polycarbonate armor keeps your Viper light, responsive, and competition-ready. Because tops can take repeated hits or wear from overhead strikes, having spares ensures your robot won’t miss a match. The UHMW Vertical Spinner Front Armor complements this panel for a complete defense setup. REVISION CONTROL FingerTech Robotics has revised their Vertical Spinner Kit, and this armor aligns with that update. If you have trouble fitting the cover, see the downloadable drawings for potential modifications. This cover is Rev 4; the previous revision is R3. See the drawings under PRODUCT DOCUMENTS or in the gallery for both R3 and R4. Unfortunately, R3 is no longer available from FingerTech.
